Dr. Petrus NJ Gous, MBChB (Pret), MMed (Ophth)(Pret), FCS (Ophth) SA .

Dr Petrus Gous qualified at the University of Pretoria as a medical doctor in 1986.

He qualified as an ophthalmologist in 1995 at the University of Pretoria under prof Polla Roux, and did a fellowship in Glaucoma at the Devers Eye Institute in Portland Oregon, USA under prof Mike van Buskirk, and as senior registrar in Glaucoma at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, UK, under Mr Steven Vernon and Oculoplastics under Mr Richard Downes.

Currently Dr Gous has special interests in Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics and Medical Retina, amongst others, as well as Research in Ophthalmology

Dr Gous is in private practice at the Pretoria Eye Institute with fellow colleagues Drs Niel Cornelius, Liezel van der Merwe, Charl Weitz and Cor van Zyl
